I will overwhelm 'serious fighter' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua will face the American YouTuber in an eight-round match which will be streamed live on Netflix.

Briton Anthony Joshua declared he will "dominate completely" the American and "overpower" his opponent as the pair came face-to-face to build hype for the upcoming bout.

Ex twice world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth mismatch - at Miami's arena on December 19th.

Boxer's Mentality

"I plan to damage his features and break his body up. My goal is to show my superiority," the British boxer, 35 years old, declared.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's how fighters think.

"I intend to seriously aim to injure him. That's my intention."

Civil Exchange

Despite those words, a relaxed Joshua and internet personality Paul - usually recognized for his theatrics - shared friendly words and remained civil with each other.

Paul rather targeted ex Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and described him as "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian turned down a fight offer.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, took aim at British opponent Fury - and refused a large bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] outshines Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer commented.

"I respect him for that."

Legitimate Fighter

Despite stating he plans to punish Paul, Joshua declined to talk badly about his rival's pugilistic talent.

"Jake is a serious fighter," he said.

Jake Paul's History

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has primarily boxed MMA fighters or declining opponents since turning professional.

He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.

Financial Success

However, the novice is still one of boxing's largest money-making draws, regularly earning substantial earnings.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28 year old anticipated a knockout win in round four or five and stated he would stop the much-anticipated match between Joshua and Fury, which is allegedly in the works for 2026.

"It will be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul said.

Size Disparity

As the two fighters met for the traditional confrontation, with their height and weight contrast evident, it emphasized just how unlikely this complete situation is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is actually happening.
