The star has donated the complete sum of his twenty-five thousand pound honor cash to the Music Venues Trust, which functions to protect the UK's grassroots music venues.
The star was presented with the cheque on mid-October as his latest record the album was declared the outstanding release of the past year.
The musician has decided to give the cash to the Music Venues Trust, in recognition of the essential function small stages had in his initial steps.
"I couldn't be pursuing this success if it hadn't been for all the performances I performed around the North East, and further afield, when I was just getting going," said the artist. "These locations are iconic, but they are facing challenges."
Beginning in 2023, at least 150 of these locations have permanently closed – about 16% of the entire UK sector.
Recently, well-known musicians including Pulp, Coldplay, Katy Perry and Sheeran have all backed the MVT in its initiatives to support the industry, by including a small levy to their admission fees, which benefits independent venues.
Fender also took part, generating over £100k on his 2024 arena tour to help thirty-eight grassroots venues across Britain.
The money assisted spaces that were confronting possible closure due to difficulties caused by water damage, blazes and bereavements, as well as licensing issues, legal disputes and neighbor objections.
Some locations received monetary aid in improving infrastructure and technical equipment that helped performers and concertgoers.
"The idea that funds from shows in big venues supports the independent spots, where it begins for performers like me, is just logical," Sam Fender has commented.
Fender is among several artists to contribute his award prize money to worthy causes.
When Pulp won the trophy in the mid-90s for their record their work, lead singer the singer declared that the act would donate their prize money to the organization War Child.
In 2002, rapper and singer she shared her bounty across several organizations, such as the NSPCC and a charity for Sickle Cell.
"And I gave a grand to the center, to their gymnastics program, because I trained in gymnastics when I was a child and they required new equipment," the artist explained to outlets.
In recent years, the band donated their prize money to the local youth club that supported their band, in addition to other independent music bodies.
And 1994 winners they donated their prize to a charity for MS after a friend was found to have the illness.
"Receiving the award was ample," said artist the singer. "The money was the extra but we didn't need the bonus, because we had the main prize. So our success touched somebody else's life."
In the past week, the Music Venues Trust revealed it had saved a couple of local spots in that region, by bringing them into local control.
One venue in the city and the other in Bristol were bought under the public acquisition scheme, which is supported by Arts Council England and enthusiasts who acquire "stakes" in the buildings.
